This project was based around the life of my mother, Helen de Mouilpied (married name Forman). Or rather it was based on what she left in her desk when she died in 1987. I kept these contents in boxes for 30 years. What should I do with them? Increasingly I felt they should not be kept secret. Who would be interested? I decided to make an installation of the contents of her desk. What she decided was worth keeping interpreted by my memories and current preoccupations. Memory is under constant pressures to change. The project was exhibited at the Highgate Gallery in March 2019, then travelled to Channing School, Highgate; and to St Margaret Hall college in Oxford.
